About artist

Born in 1960 in Łódź. Between 1979-1985 studied at the Painting and Graphics Faculty of the National Art School in Łódź, between 1982 – 1985 he also studied philosophy at the Łódź University. He obtained a diploma at the Woodcutting Techniques Atelier of professor Andrzej M. Bartczak and Painting Atelier of professor Stanisław Fijałkowski. Since 2005 he supervises the Painting and Drawing Atelier in the Weaving and Clothing Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. In 2003 he was invited to the jury of the National Painting Contest Bielska Jesień. Leder’s paintings are effortful and multi-structural, sometimes they resemble earth and rocks, they display colors of a dark and not entirely known nature. The artist uses his own techniques, he also paints with natural yet colored wax, frequently processes his paintings mechanically with processes such as grinding. The artist’s works are part of collections in the Museum of Art in Łódź, Galeria Bielska BWA in Bielsko-Biała, Kulczyk Foundation, Atlas of Art, Collection of Towarzystwo Zachęty Sztuk Pięknych among others, as well as domestic and foreign private collections.
